SIAP Acoustics recently returned to Voldsløkka Skole in Bergen, Norway, for a second tuning session a few months after commissioning, as part of our standard process to adapt the system based on user feedback.

The auditorium, with a telescopic seating capacity of 307, required variable acoustics to accommodate different performances. Although the room’s natural acoustics were expected to have a reverberation time (RT) of 0.9 seconds, measurements showed only 0.6 seconds. In compliance with the mandatory Norwegian acoustics standard NS 8178:2014, we created a custom “Basis” preset to bring the RT to the intended 0.9 seconds. We then gradually increased the RT to 1.8 seconds, a 248% improvement, while maintaining an EDT/RT ratio of around 90%, ensuring a natural sound for all types of events.

This project highlights our ability to deliver flexible and compliant acoustic solutions, ensuring venues like the Voldsløkka School auditorium can support a wide range of performances.
