PAJU Pop Music Concert Hall, South-Korea

INTRODUCTION
The Paju Pop Music Concert Hall is a beautifully designed new venue dedicated to pop, ensemble and crossover performances. With a natural reverberation time of 1.0 seconds at 500/1000 Hz, the hall offers clarity and definition, but required adjustable acoustics to support a wider range of productions. To provide this flexibility, the venue selected a compact yet powerful SIAP Mark V Active Acoustics System, installed by Tech Data PS, whose outstanding craftsmanship strongly contributed to the success of the project.

OUR WORK
SIAP designed and commissioned an active acoustics system based on the Mark V processor, using 16 microphones and 56 loudspeakers distributed across the ceiling, side walls, rear wall and stage zone. A dedicated Electronic Orchestra Shell was implemented on stage, giving musicians enhanced acoustic support, improved mutual hearing and a coherent sonic connection with the audience area. When needed, the shell can operate with its own acoustic envelope, allowing tailored on-stage conditions for different productions.

The system includes 11 acoustic presets, ranging from intimate to highly reverberant environments, as well as 3 surround presets for spatial playback and immersive performances.

THE RESULT
The Paju Pop Music Concert Hall now offers a much broader artistic palette. Acoustic ensembles benefit from warmth and richness, amplified productions enjoy a lively yet controlled space, and performers on stage experience significantly improved hearing conditions thanks to the electronic orchestra shell. Despite its modest footprint, the system delivers exceptional performance, blending naturally with the architecture and supporting the hall’s full spectrum of musical activities.
