30+ years of acoustic innovation – from active acoustics to spatial sound.

In the 1980s, frustrated by the limitations of existing acoustic enhancement systems, we set out to pioneer a new approach: the System for Improved Acoustic Performance (SIAP). At that time, acoustic technology was still in its infancy, and the idea of transforming a performance space at the touch of a button seemed like a distant dream. But we had a vision: to harness the natural beauty of sound without compromising its integrity.

Our journey began with the Mark I processor – the first step in redefining how sound interacts with architecture. Over the following decades, we kept pushing the boundaries of what was possible. As new technologies emerged, SIAP evolved, but our core principle remained the same: to work with natural acoustic processes, not against them. We’ve always stayed true to natural acoustic processes, rejecting artificial algorithms or effects not found in nature.

This philosophy is what set us apart then – and still does today. Driven by a team of acousticians, musicians and technical experts, we blend a deep understanding of both the science of sound and the art of music. What began as an ambitious idea in a small Dutch workshop has grown into a globally trusted reference in active acoustics and spatial sound.
