At SIAP, we provide and deliver immersive audio systems that enable real-time acoustic adaptation and three-dimensional sound experiences, built on our AVA platform.
Our systems allow a single venue to support a wide range of uses without physical changes to the space. Speech can be clear and intimate, music can feel rich and spacious, and performances can fully immerse the audience – all within the same room. By shaping both the acoustic character of a space and the behaviour of sound within it, immersive audio becomes a controllable and repeatable part of the venue’s design, ensuring that each event gets the conditions it requires.
We work closely with consultants, system integrators, distributors and venue owners, combining scientific insight with decades of experience in immersive audio. This collaborative approach translates acoustic principles into reliable, well-defined systems that perform convincingly in practice and remain straightforward to operate in real-world cultural and multipurpose venues.
IMMMERSIVE AUDIO
Immersive Audio is the umbrella term for our work. It describes sound experiences in which the acoustic character of a space and the spatial behaviour of sound sources work together to fully engage the listener.
ACTIVE ACOUSTICS
Active Acoustics allows the acoustic behaviour of a space to be adjusted electronically and in real time.
By adding or shaping reverberation, a venue can adapt to different uses without changing its architecture. A space can feel intimate for speech, supportive for theatre, or rich and spacious for music – all at the touch of a button.
VIRTUAL ACOUSTICS
In contrast to Active Acoustics (which modifies the acoustic signature of the space), Virtual Acoustics adds an acoustic signature to the performance. Virtual Acoustics can vary from adding simple reverberation effects to copying the acoustic signature of an internationally renowned concert hall.
Virtual Acoustics is useful in situations where there is no natural reverberation such as AR/VR headsets or outdoor concerts.
SPATIAL AUDIO
Spatial Audio focuses on the precise positioning and movement of sound within a three-dimensional space.
Sound sources can be placed at fixed locations, moved along trajectories, or designed to envelop the audience. This enables realistic sound scenes, creative storytelling, and immersive performances that go far beyond traditional stereo or surround sound.
VOICE-LIFT
Voice-Lift systems support natural speech communication across a space, allowing presenters to speak freely and move naturally without relying on visible or intrusive microphones.
By subtly reinforcing speech throughout the room, Voice-Lift improves intelligibility for every listener while preserving a natural listening experience. This makes it particularly suitable for lecture halls, theatres and multipurpose spaces where comfort, clarity and freedom of movement are essential.
SUPPORT
SIAP was founded nearly 40 years ago, is on its 6th generation platform, and received patents on the original techniques used in Active Acoustics. This extensive experience allows us to provide specialized knowledge and support to consultants, designers, and installers of immersive audio systems.
We are happy to provide feedback on venue designs and drawings and assist project teams in implementing immersive audio concepts. By collaborating closely with these teams, we can help ensure the successful deployment, tuning, and long-term operation of the systems, all aimed at delivering a premium immersive audio experience at every seat in the theater.
